Bazemore FamilyThis family reportedly traces back to Thomas Bazemore (1681-1745) who came from Surrey, England, to Norfolk VA. I haven't done any research personally on the generations prior to David Bazemore (1848-1928), who appears as a child in 1850 in Bertie County. Abisha Bazemore of Bertie Co. NC married several times. It appears that his last (fourth?) wife was Nancy, maiden name probably Rice, and that she was the mother of his youngest children. I don't see a marriage record for them in the NC marriage index on Ancestry.com. Abisha Bazemore died between the 1850 census and 1857, when Nancy married Thomas Hoggard. In 1860 Thomas and Nancy are living in Hertford Co. NC, with W.K.P. Hoggard age 14, male, and five "Basemore" children. There is a message on the Bazemore Genforum discussion board regarding Nancy and her marriages. First GenerationProbable children of Abisha and Nancy BazemoreJoseph Perry Bazemore (ca. 1841-?) m.
