Plunkett Family

The Plunketts came to America from County Meath, Ireland, and trace their ancestry all the way back to the 10th century Irish king Brian Boruma mac Cennetig. The line I'm researching begins with James Plunkett and Agnes Huston or Houston, who came from Spotsylvania VA to Cabarrus Co. NC in the 18th century. Their son Robert Thompson Plunkett (1787-1853) married Mary Gilmer (1781-1862) in Cabarrus Co. in 1817. Mary was the daughter of James Gilmer and Margaret Woodside. I haven't put up a page for the Gilmer family yet, but will be happy to share the information I have on them.
