Coley family of Granville and Wake County NC

I'm very grateful to Frances Wheeler who sent me information on this family in 1999.

David Coley was born in 1754 in Mecklenburg Co. VA, and married Elizabeth Matthews there in 1778. I believe that they were the parents of David Coley (1780-1857), with whom this page begins:

First Generation

David Coley b. 1780 married 1) Becky Garner in 1800 in Granville Co. NC, and 2) Frances Brogdon, probably in 1803. I'm not aware of any children by Becky Garner.

Note: this Isham Coley lived in Granville and Wake counties, NC. There is also an Isham Coley in Stanly Co. NC, born about 1825 and not married yet in 1850.
