Moore Family of Orange, Chatham and Alamance CountiesJames Moore of Bingham township, Orange Co. NC, was born in 1786, son of John and Clary Moore, and died in 1820. His wife was Susannah Edwards, about whom I know nothing as yet. They were the parents of Ruffin Moore, born about 1814-1817, who married Mary Meacham.

Moore and Matilda Robertson married on the same day, with the same witness and J.P., as Robert Durham and Elizabeth Manes or Maner, whose daughter Amanda would eventually marry John and Matilda's son David Moore.

Children of David Benton Moore and Nettie Cora Cates I don't have a death date for Amanda, or a marriage date for Nettie, although the 1910 census states that David has been married for 3 years, and Nettie for 2 - which is hard to figure! If they have really been married only 3 years or less, and John Walter is really age 4 as this census indicates, then he is probably Amanda's son. On the other hand, there's a long gap between Lillie and J. Walter, and he appears in some on-line files as Nettie's son. Can anyone give me some dates here? David's obituary names a daughter Miss Margaret Moore whom I can't identify in the census records. Lillie was already married by 1920, so I don't think it's her.
